MLB All Star Game Was Most Viewed All Star Game Of All Sports This Past Year

All Star Game viewership:
MLB All Star Game (2015): 10.9 million viewers.Pro Bowl (2016): 8.0MNBA (2016): 7.6MNHL (2016): 1.6M

This past year in sports it was shown through viewers that the most watched All Star Game of any sport was the MLB All Star Game. In my opinion, I feel like Major League Baseballs All Star game is the only All Star game that is taken seriously and the players actually have something to play for. The winning division being the National League or American League, has their respective teams in those divisions who make it to the World Series get home field advantage. This is a big deal for most teams, as we most recently saw the Kansas City Royals granted home field advantage over the New York Mets because the American League defeated the National League in the All Star Game. The Royals jumped out to a 2-0 series lead in the World Series and ultimately the home field advantage proved its case as it played a factor for the Royals to jump out and take the first two games.
The rest of the All Star Games such as the Pro Bowl, NBA, and NHL have no significant meaning to them and it is just a time to see the best players in their respective sport go out and laugh and have a good time with really no concern about winning the game. There was a huge drop off in views as the NHL trailed the second to last NBA in viewers by a whopping 6 million viewers, however I can't say that is surprising to me.
Other than the MLB All Star Game the All Star Games are just a time to share laughs and fool around and try to put on a good show for the fans.
